THE BOARD

Eight of the 205 companies we track are at or near their own recorded high this week — exactly the same number as last week. Almost everything underneath that number changed. A week ago seven of the eight sat in Earth. This week Earth has two, and the other six are spread across four different legs. Five legs now have at least one name at the top, up from two. Average distance from high across the whole board barely moved (72.9%, from 73.4%): this is a reshuffle at the front, not a fall.

EARTH — PHYSICALLY SCARCE RESOURCES

Down to two at or near high, from seven. Altius Minerals (100.4%) and Phillips 66 (99.1%) hold the line. HF Sinclair, Suncor Energy and Valero Energy are all just short, between 98.3% and 98.9%.

BUILD — THINGS WE MAKE AND CONSTRUCT

Deere is back over the line at 99.0%, the leg’s first entry since we began tracking real data. IMI is close behind at 98.2%, then Rolls-Royce (96.2%), Atlas Copco (95.8%) and ABB (93.9%).

NEED — THINGS WE CANNOT DO WITHOUT

Still no names at the top. Lotus Bakeries leads at 96.4%; the rest of the top five sit in the low 80s (Couche-Tard, L’Oréal, Costco, Unilever).

WANT — THINGS WE CHOOSE TO BUY

Still none. General Motors leads at 94.0%, ahead of InterContinental Hotels (89.4%), Inditex (88.6%), Hilton (87.8%) and Richemont (86.0%).

HEALTH — KEEPING US ALIVE AND WELL

AbbVie is back at its recorded high (100.0%). Johnson & Johnson (98.8%), Thermo Fisher (97.8%), Gilead (97.5%) and Merck (97.3%) are all in the high 90s without quite crossing.

MONEY — THE PLUMBING OF CAPITAL

Axa is the leg’s one entrant, just above its high at 99.4%. Allianz (98.0%), HSBC and JPMorgan (both 97.1%) are close behind; Interactive Brokers is at 95.6%.

DIGITAL — INFORMATION, SOFTWARE AND NETWORKS

The biggest mover. Three names at or above their recorded highs, up from one: Advanced Micro Devices (109.2%), Cloudflare (104.8%) and Apple (100.3%). NVIDIA is next at 96.7%, then Microsoft at 94.4%. Separately, MoneySpider’s New Highs tracker logged a first-ever new all-time high this week for AMD, Apple, Cloudflare and NVIDIA — a different measure, telling the same story.

YIELD — REAL ESTATE AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Still none. United Utilities leads at 96.6%, ahead of Severn Trent (93.8%), SSE (89.8%), Simon Property (89.3%) and Duke Energy (88.2%).

WHAT TO WATCH

Whether the spread across five legs holds or widens next week, or narrows back to one or two legs doing all the work.

Figures are each company’s latest price as a percentage of its recorded high, as of 21 September 2026. Descriptive only — no forecasts. Full register: moneyspider.net/micro.
